Mint Museum of Toys (Singapore)

I found this museum by accident after finish my window shopping at Bras Basah Complex. It was across Seah Street with a brown sign pointing to the direction of the museum. The admission fee was $15, a bit pricey but for being a figure lover it worth penny of it. The building also have a Restaurant on the basement and Winebar / Rooftop bar that open at night. I am planning to try the restaurant when I have enough money to spend. So look out on my review of the restaurant, the ambient looks cool from the outside.

Now the main part! There are 6 floors for you to look around the museum from Disney characters to Atom Boy to Batman. Each floor have it specialty toys. The 6th floor is mostly toys from Japan (Atom boys and Doraemon) and Star Wars Movies. While 5th and 4th floor are more towards Western cartoon and action hero toys (Tin Tin, Tom & Jerry, Batman & etc). The last two floor are a mix of Western & Eastern old toys... It is a a bit hard to describe these two floor since I saw traditional toys, action hero figurine, Ultraman, Beatles and etc.

I took a lot of pictures with my iPhone so the quality of the picture is not that sharp so I would like to apologies first  (シ_ _)シ. By the way, flash photography is not allow.

Overall, it was fun! This museum is for those that love old or retro toys/figurines. I manage to see some very very rare toys and some toys that might be provocative to some. For example, the Dalee Toothbrush toys. I do hope that everyone would be open with this section of the museum. Do write something on my facebook page which is on the picture link.

日本人の知らない日本語~~~

I finished reading日本人の知らない日本語 volume 1 & 2(roughly translated - The Japanese Language that Japanese doesn't know) and now going to volume 3 the last book. It is a 4-koma (Mostly) manga book about the life of Nagiko-sensei a Japanese language teacher and her foreign students. She would have trouble answering the students question about Japanese language and looking at their weird ethic and comments while in Japan.

Some of the chapter reminded me of my Language school days in Japan T__T. Good old fun days~~~ I am sure some of you guys and girls that studied in Japan language school would have a good connection with this book. ^^

OOoooh yeah!!! and also I got a present from my friend in Japan. Its FRAU-san from Robotic:Notes.

WUAHAHAHA!!!! looove her so much!!!

Konnichiwa Japan Postcard & Doraemon Credit Card

I am currently in Singapore and was in Liang Court to check out the Kinokuniya's Bargain Area. Along the way I saw these cute postcards made by the management group. They are trying to promote Japan's different cultural festival by using Onigiri Head mascot. I believe it is a good chose to promote Japan since in Japan agricultural history, rice was the most important staple food for the Japanese. In addition, the first time I arrived in Japan I ate sake(salmon) onigiri.

While in Bangkok after the Japan Mania Festival, I went to a cafe for a rest and was browsing a magazine and found a Thai bank offering Doraemon Credit Card to their customers. Pretty neat yeah! Hope other countries would do these type of thing.
