It left a lot of fond memories for my friends and me since 2004 (most of them already left the otaku world haha) and that really got me into cosplay photography too. Well, took me 6 years to save up my money to buy a DSLR camera.<br />
<br />
Old story aside.... Both day were hot, humid and a slight rain to stop the open field picture taking on Day 2. The back building were taken up the pro with their cool equipment already setup (I dream of having those myself *saving $$*). The place were crowded with photographers, cosplayers and fellow otakus. Everyone was having fun and so do I. Been out with a dislocated right shoulder and sprained back from a fall so I was happy to be back taking pics of cosplayers ^____^v<br />
<br />
My assessment for Cosfest, the booths look more organized than last year but still can be improve. The main stream booth sold anime merchandise and etc while smaller booth were selling badges, pins, postcard and a few of doujin. I wish the doujinshi culture in Singapore would boom like in Thailand or Taiwan, want to see SG artist showing off their stuff too. I find putting cosplay props display and cardboard walls in the middle of the tent made it less spacious which was hard to move around especially during raining period. Lastly, inside the tent on Day 2 was really warm >_< don't know if they really switch on the air-con or fan...However, it was fun and nice outside other than the rain =,="" More space for cosplayers and photographers to move around. If you ask nicely the cosplayers would be happy to pose for you! Oh remember to say "THANK YOU" to them too.<br />

Therefore, decided to go for round two the next day with intention to buy since I have a jotted down the price in Ikebukuro & Nakano.<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
I went to Mandrake and bought two Bungaku Shoujo aka Book Girl illustration book, Tari Tari (rare find) guide book and an old Haruhiko Mikimoto illustration book. Next, I went to a small figurine shop that sells unwanted stuff cheaply and I was pretty lucky to find "Macross 30th Anniversary" banner. That i had always wanted since my friend showed me early this year. The plastic was in a rough shape but the banner was still in good shape so bought it without second thought. Later, I tried to find my favorite retro poster shop but to my dismay it closed down. I went to the other poster shop for answer and they said, "Mandrake bought it". SHOCK 101%. It used to sell a lot of old anime in the 80s to early 2000s where cel animation was still used. That was where I got my "Kimagure Orange Road" posters and cheap cel animation from. But the good news is that "Lashinbang" opened two store at Nakano Broadway ^_^v so more competition for Mandrake! I bought a "Macross 30th Memorial Album", well not a real photo album ^_^"" but still pretty cool with a pictures of past to present Macross characters in it. Total loot spent: Y12,000.<br />
<br />
An advice for serious figurine/illustration book buyers ONLY! Do take your time to find what you want. The prices differences can be between Y500 to Y2000 on each area. It is better to check Akiba for a rough or standard price before checking out Nakano or Ikebukuro (Do take note that Ikebukuro sells mostly girls stuff therefore you might find guy stuff cheaper at Ikebukuro's Lashinbang 2nd floor).<br />
<br />

Opposite Lashinbang store, there was a Pixiv Gallery Event. I did not check the name of the artist. But he/she did a pretty job on the showcasing the artwork. There was a video of his/her doing coloring to the drawing. I will post a few of the work but do click my Facebook album below to see more.<br />

Anyway, I managed to catch Bayonetta ~Bloody Fate~ Movie @ Ikebukuro Cinema. As usual the price of the ticket is expensive Y1,800 but for me it was worth it, since I am fan of Bayonetta. The movie had been screening for some times, I was watching on the a small theater about 75 sitter. There were only a handful of people watching but amazingly about 70% were girls @_@. A bit weird since it main target was for mostly guys. Also I didn't know Bayonetta had a strong female fan base in Japan. The movie had the same story plot as the game. However, I believed it would still be a decent animation movie for any fans ^__^v as for those that didn't play the game it might get confusing at some part of the plot in the movie. I would highly recommend for those that are into fighting anime or had played Bayonetta game. <div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Overall:</div>
<div>
Aninmation: 9/10 very top notch stuff, produced by Gonzo.</div>
<div>
Story: 6/10 same as the game but can be confusing for non-Bayonetta gamer</div>
<div>
Seiyuu: 8/10 simply great, fits each character well but I played in English so not used to the J version</div>
<div>
Fight Scene: 7/10 early on was fun to watch but after that it just slowed down and mostly fan service (Bayonetta vs Jean would be the highlight scene)</div>
<div>
Music: 9/10 I enjoyed the BGM and the ending theme song was great (do watch the Ending MV, it was great)</div>
<div>
</div>
<div>
I bought a mini movie illustration book:<br /><br />

The event is held together with "Sapporo Snow Festival" so you can expect to see a Miku snow sculpture and many more beautiful sculpture. As for Miku fans, there would be stage event, Miku's tram car (which most of you have seen it on the net), goodies for sale and mini concert. <b><u>Area - Iwate</u></b><br />
<br />
<b>Tono-Monogatari @ Aeria Tono (2014/03/02)</b><br />
An all "Touhou doujinshi event only" being held at Iwate prefecture, Tono City. It starts at 12noon and ends at 3pm, guess this would be a small event catering for Touhou fans. As for now, there is not much information from the pamphlet or the website. You can expect more update and info on the website.<br />

An all Kantai Collection (Combined Fleet Collection) doujinshi event only. Begins at 11am and ends at 3pm. For those that is unfamiliar with Kantai Collection <span style="font-family: Times, Times New Roman, serif;"><span style="background-color: white; line-height: 19.1875px;">abbreviated as Kan Colle in Japan. From what I know It is originally an online card game where you play with card game with a moe looking kanmusu (Fleet Girl?). It is currently the new "it" thing with my otaku friends in Akiba. They gave me a poster of "Atago" and made me a fan of her (^_^").</span> They told me a new PSP game and anime is coming out next year.</span><br />

<b>Cinderella Stage 2 @ Osaka OMM Building (Merchandise Mart), C Hall (2014/02/09)</b><br />
For those "Idolmaster" fans, this is an Idolmaster doujinshi only event in Osaka. From 11.30am to 3pm (unconfirmed). <b>Sakura High school - Welcome all New Students @ Toyosato Elementary School (2014/05/05)</b><br />
A K-ON! only event with doujinshi & festival(?) being held. I did not go for this event but one of my friend that went had a very fun time. You were given a rare chance to explore the school where the cast of K-ON! had their fun time playing their songs. It would be a priceless journey for all K-ON! fans. Oh yeah, an advise from my friend, the space seats and space were for children so for adult it would be a squeeze.<br />

It was really a great exhibition with Japanese sword makers reproducing swords for the Evangelion exhibit which cost Y1,000 for entry. In addition, there was an Eva figure exhibit which cost Y500. For any huge Eva fans it would be worth your money to visit the exhibition before 23 Dec.<br />

At the museum entrance there were Eva mecha & characters cardboard cutout which i took some pictures before the cold weather got the best out of me and decided to buy the ticket quickly. Before getting in the staff would explain a few rules on the entrance (no flash photography n etc). Later, I was greeted by a human size Eva mecha and beside it a guide on making Japanese swords (Katana, Wakizashi and more). It also explained the different era of swords in Japan. I am no expert in this field but from what can I observed the length and ornaments of each swords were different. There was also a corner to test out the weigh of the sword (damn heavy) and a detail video demonstration on making Japanese sword.<br />

From next section on it was basically Eva sword reproduction. Everything was made by different sword makers there were also pictures of them making it and maker:s title on the handle of the swords. It was a sight to look at and very elegant too. The one that caught my eye was a Wakizashi with metallic Asuka on the blade. I was kind of speechless when i saw it, he must a lot of free time or a very huge Asuka fan to make it so detail. After snapping a lot of pictures and checking out the merchandises store. I continued my photo taking to the figure section where the figures on stage replicated scenes from Eva animation TV and Movies. Sadly, I only brought my digicam so I could not took any good pictures. But I did my best ^_^".<br />

<span style="font-family: Times, Times New Roman, serif;">A doujinshi event at Ikebukuro area, starts at 11am - 3.30pm. It worth to have a good at the artist booth as some of them try to sell the leftover from Comiket or could not participate on the event. I had been there once two years ago, the crowd is smaller than Comiket so for those that hate long queue then it is for you. The contents in the booths were mostly for guys. (Come early if you want the good stuffs)</span><br />

<span style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif; line-height: 24px;"><br /></span>
<br />
<div style="-webkit-tap-highlight-color: rgba(26, 26, 26, 0.294118); line-height: 24px;">
<span style="font-family: Times, Times New Roman, serif;">After a good 8 hours sleep when to toastbox to have my breakkie before going the MRT station to meet up with my other friend. We reached the hall around 10.30am. I planned to go to the main stage to watch SAO anime showcase but there was already a messy queue of people waiting infront of the door and the organizer did not expect this much people. The entry was almost like a riot. The audiences really have no control of themselves cutting queue and running in the main stage hall like kids (please grow up a bit people). (ー ー;)</span></div>
<div style="-webkit-tap-highlight-color: rgba(26, 26, 26, 0.294118); line-height: 24px;">
<span style="font-family: Times, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="-webkit-tap-highlight-color: rgba(26, 26, 26, 0.294118); line-height: 24px;">
<span style="font-family: Times, Times New Roman, serif;">The SAO showcase was pretty decent nothing much just the director and producer talking about the anime while being interviewed by Reiko and Hisanori Yoshida. I wished there were a QnA session with fans, liked last year where Danny used twitter as a source of communication for fans with the director or producer. After that the Horipro artist showcase started with Valerie, Ayaka Ohashi, Azusa Tadokoro and May'n. each lady got their time to introduce themselves and sang a songs for the fans. I watched until Azusa sang and then left for lunch with my group. </span></div>
<div style="-webkit-tap-highlight-color: rgba(26, 26, 26, 0.294118); line-height: 24px;">

<div style="-webkit-tap-highlight-color: rgba(26, 26, 26, 0.294118); line-height: 24px;">
<span style="font-family: Times, Times New Roman, serif;">When lunch break was over we parted our ways since each of us had different objective for going to AFA. For me was taking cosplayer pictures, watching anime screening and listening to anime producer and director speaking. I was joined with a friend in the photo taking walkabout. I walked around the hall taking pictures for almost 4 hours and before realizing I missed Pyscho- Pass and Love Live! Anime showcase (; ̄ェ ̄). I didn't hear my phone alarm *sigh*. I have to admit the level of cosplay kept improving in Singapore.</span></div>

<span style="font-family: Times, Times New Roman, serif;">We took a break at the 3rd floor and found some guys showing off their dollfies so decided to take pictures of their wife or daughters. After that we continued to take pictures until my battery was out of battery. Later we meet up with another friend and three of us decided to go for an early dinner and rest before going into the booths hall to buy some goodies ( less crowded during 7+). Here is my share of goodies:</span><br />

<span style="-webkit-tap-highlight-color: rgba(26, 26, 26, 0.294118); font-family: Times, Times New Roman, serif; line-height: 24px;"><b>AFA 2013 Day 1</b></span><br />
<div style="-webkit-tap-highlight-color: rgba(26, 26, 26, 0.294118); line-height: 24px;">
<span style="font-family: Times, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="-webkit-tap-highlight-color: rgba(26, 26, 26, 0.294118); line-height: 24px;">
<span style="font-family: Times, Times New Roman, serif;">Welcome to Day 1 of Anime Festival Asia in Singapore which held in Suntec City Convention Hall near city area. The Convention Hall has just been renovated and everything looks new. The number of booths increase but it looked smaller compared to last year in Expo. The crowd was mediocre since it was Friday so for those real anime otaku merchandises grabbing buyers it was the best day to visit since the stock of goodies and freebies were available.</span></div>
<div style="-webkit-tap-highlight-color: rgba(26, 26, 26, 0.294118); line-height: 24px;">
<span style="font-family: Times, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="-webkit-tap-highlight-color: rgba(26, 26, 26, 0.294118); line-height: 24px;">
<span style="font-family: Times, Times New Roman, serif;">I reached the Hall around 9.30am and there were already a long line. The door was supposed to be open at 10.30am but due to the long queue, the organizer opened the door half an hour earlier *\(^o^)/* I managed to get in around 15 minutes later and decided to browsed around the "Creator's Hub" aka doujinshi booth and found out some of the artists were from the neighboring countries too. Most of the items that were selling were badges, pins, postcard, posters and some doujinshi books (these items cost range from SGD3 to SGD50). The effort and love that put into the making these quality items can be seen from the excited and tired looking faces. Great Work guys ヾ(@⌒ー⌒@)ノAlong the way, I met an old face at the booth selling his artwork from a forum that i used to hangout, we chit-chatted a bit and later parted my way to meet my friend. </span></div>
<div style="-webkit-tap-highlight-color: rgba(26, 26, 26, 0.294118); line-height: 24px;">
<span style="font-family: Times, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="-webkit-tap-highlight-color: rgba(26, 26, 26, 0.294118); line-height: 24px;">
<span style="font-family: Times, Times New Roman, serif;">There was not a lot of cosplayers on standby during Day 1 so I mostly spent my time in the main stage with my friend, watching anime screening (Gintama Movie, Little Witch Academia and Pyscho-Pass). The seats were pretty empty with an estimation of 50 people on their seats to watch the anime screening. But it was fun watching anime screening with fellow anime otaku. We could laughed loudly together without having people staring and thinking we were watching kiddy stuff. </span></div>
<div style="-webkit-tap-highlight-color: rgba(26, 26, 26, 0.294118); line-height: 24px;">
<span style="font-family: Times, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="-webkit-tap-highlight-color: rgba(26, 26, 26, 0.294118); line-height: 24px;">
<span style="font-family: Times, Times New Roman, serif;">After the anime screening was over my friend and I parted ways as he was working night shift. I went for another round in the hall this time taking pictures of figurines from Good Smile, Bandai and Tamashii. The displayed figurines were mostly showcase from last year, Saint Seiya, Gundam series,One Piece and etc. The newer ones were Valvrare, Shingeki no Kyojin and Kuroko no Basket figures. </span></div>
<div style="-webkit-tap-highlight-color: rgba(26, 26, 26, 0.294118); line-height: 24px;">
<span style="font-family: Times, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="-webkit-tap-highlight-color: rgba(26, 26, 26, 0.294118); line-height: 24px;">
<span style="font-family: Times, Times New Roman, serif;">Along the way, Magical Witch Madoka, Sword Art Online, Love Live and Shingeki no Kyojin had their respective booth selling official items like T-shirts, posters and etc. There was a group of hardcore idol fans that made into the facebook news page when they were bowing and praying homage to Love Live characters behind the booth area. I did not managed to get a picture of them doing it but will post the fb pic. There were other booths like Danny Choo's CJ, Toyota promoting their <a href="https://www.facebook.com/PES.ken.minai?hc_location=stream" target="_blank">Na*Su*Bi</a> mascots, anime and backing by idol group called "<a href="http://ent.nikkeibp.co.jp/ent/AOP/" target="_blank">A応P</a>" aka Anime Ouen Project, "Million Arthur" having pre-registration event and IE-Tan booth where I got by T-shirt.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Times, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Times, Times New Roman, serif;">Around 6 pm I left the hall looking half dead but with a big big smile on my face. Tell you guys the truth, I could not sleep the night before feeling so so excited like a kid going for his first trip to the theme park, in the end only had 4 hours of sleep in total. Haha very pathetic indeed ^o^</span></div>

Top management, producer and professor on the field of Anime and Manga meet together to discuss about the industry. I enjoyed the event as it gave me a new prospective on the history of anime and manga. In addition, the session on Shingeki no Kyojin really gave a few insights on the anime industry. Lastly, the panels session with students and guests on the topic of anime and manga (turn out bad).<br />

Session 1 - Overview<br />
By Eiji Otsuka-san talked mainly about the history of manga and the progress of manga drawing. It started with Otsuka-san giving us the main two accepted theories by most Japanese of the origins of manga. Firstly, artwork in manga can be traced back to the Edo periods by the great Ukiyo-e & Printermaker artist, Hokusai. However, Otsuka-san rejected that theory because Hokusai worked uses "Choujuu-giga" style, while he believed that manga got it influenced by Avant-garde, Montage and Disney-style drawing. Otsuka-san also explained about popularity of early Disney's work in Japan that there were "faked Mickey Mouse" being drawn by Japanese artist.<br />
Secondly, post-WWII worked from Ozamu Tezuka started the manga bloom which again Otsuka-san rejected that theory because he found an early manga by Suihou Tagawa (1925) kept by Kodansha. Here, he also explained more about how Tagawa-san decided to draw this way. Later, he explained how some animations in Japan influenced Ozamu Tezuka and also the used of animations as war propaganda by Imamura Taihei.<br />

Session 3<br />
It was supposed to be a panel discussion between manga industry members and students which I truly believed turned out to be CRAP! Firstly, due to an incompetent translator! (Serious just sack her!) Secondly, one of the student on the panel took up about 20 minutes of the time talking about himself! (Dude it is not a speech contest but a discussion! REMEMBER THAT) Lastly, most of the questions being asked are not related to the manga industry!(Just my personal opinion) Why you ask??? Well, the manga industry panels does not come from the anime industry (That is why they can't answer most of the Qs), some of them are not in the Sales Dept and most of them come from publication industry. I seriously have pity for those industry guys, they looked bored and dumbfounded by the questions.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00727825753799064085noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2870946471863150442.post-81664317588578710472013-11-02T06:15:00.000-07:002013-11-02T06:15:16.306-07:00Kamisama no Iutoori (神さまの言うとおり) Manga<b>Short Overview</b><br />

<b>Artwork</b><br />
The artwork can be very gorily and brutal at times with head getting blown off or body get cut into half and etc (sorry won't post it here). Gore aside, what I like about the artwork are the games which the characters have encounter. It might looks like an innocent old Japanese children games that can turn so crazily violent!!<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<b>Overall</b></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
If you like how Gantz begins than I bet this is for you!! Shun and Amaya are like your ecstasy pills in this manga. Their crazy and risky action would excite you all the way until the manga end. In addition, especially in the case of Shun and Akimoto they would slowly shows their true inner self with each games they participate. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
PS: I would warn that the ending might be very WTF to some readers as there is no clear ending since the mangaka writes a new season with characters that do have connection with the 1st season characters. However, I do hope that he would one day connect both story as he continues to work on the story plot.</div>

A bit disappointed that JTB only have limited dates for the tour package but guess it is in trial period. Hope my friend have plan to go~~ I would love to go if I am in Japan now!<br />

I really enjoyed this type of trip by going to anime location during my time spent in Japan. I remember going to Jimbocho in search of the famous Yomiko's (from Read or Die) basement bookstore with my friend who guided me around. Well sadly there is no basement when we check the elevator (lol).<br />

<br />
<br />
So what so interesting about this mini-event??? Well you get to meet with mangaka from Beelzebub, Pokemon Adventure and Say "I Love You". However, the most notable appearance of illustrator Kei Garou aka KEI who illustrated some of VOCALOID characters like Hatsune Miku, Kagamine Rin & Len and Megurine Luka is the one that I got attracted to. Lets hope I can get his signature ^^v<br />
<br />
By the way, along the Japanese book section that distribute free weekly Japanese magazine corner, there are free anime/manga postcards being distribute! Try to get it before its finish~~~<br />

I stumble upon this partially anime/manga Music Video while browsing around youtube, the MV is very interesting and funny. It is describing about two high school boys talking about love and the trouble or situation that they would face (Sorry my Japanese wasn't that good, so I am guessing from the storyline). For example, telephone calls to money problem. Its really hilarious the way he sings and it really synced well with the animation. Worth a look for everybody =)</div>

<b>Short bio on the Hydain</b><br />
The creator real name is Kenichi Maeyamada aka Hyadain from Osaka, Japan. He makes a lot of anime/game related music remixes and a bit of his original too. You guys can check his Youtube and Niconico Douga account to have a look:<br />

I was thinking of buying some Jazz or Reggae album but found some J-pop albums under "World Music" section. There are mostly Koda Kumi and Ayumi Hamasaki stuff but was glad to find a Yui album and SCANDAL beside it.<br />
<br />
So why did i buy it?? The price OF COURSE! Rp85,000 (USD 8, SGD 9) for each album is CHEAP~~~~ I couldn't believe my luck when I was staring at the price. The content of the CD (as in lyrics, album pics) are the same as those in Japan but some Indonesian company have the license to the albums and decided to sell it cheaply to the local. I guess you cannot find this in Singapore which mostly are imported stuff so the price is very stiff >_<"<br />

The dude on the banner was wearing Naruto costume (Photoshop) from neck to toe with his head looking so serious. Come on bang(sir) give a SMILE! Basically, the captions on the banner means: "Moving forward undauntedly, Mr Johnny, already proven to fight anti-corruption". Hahaha! Fight corruption with shuriken, ninjutsu or kyuubi *EPIC* =D<br />

Therefore, kind of difficult for me to write a proper report. Anyway, I will list between pro and con of the event.<br />
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Firstly, let me list out the cons from the beginning that i came to JCC around 11am:<br />
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
1) There were so few ticket booths on that day, 6 to 7 booths that cater to thousand of people coming.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
2) The queues to buy the ticket were so confusing, there were like 2 different starting queues which later bottleneck into 1 queue. (Estimated wait 2hrs+, so decided to buy it from the black market guy at Rp220,000 (USD$20) after negotiation for Ex + Stage ticket)</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
3) Entry queues was kind of weird that they restricted the entry for Ex ticket holder. I saw some of them waiting in line for more than an hour just to gain entry into the Exhibition.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
4) For a famous event like this, the Exhibition Hall was just too compact and small. The movement of the crowd is trying to gain entry into Comiket haha...</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
5) Layout for B1 was very very small!!! Behind the food street area there is unused Hall which I believe can be use for resting area. While the Creator Hub and Cosplay Photozone deserved more spaces so that more people could easily access to buy doujinshi stuff or take pictures of the cosplayers.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
6) Not sure about this but I wonder if there was any room for cosplayers to prepare themselves?? I saw a lot of cosplayers hogging the toilet mirror or changing to their costume. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Now the pros:</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
1) The Plenary Hall where the movie screening, guest appearance and concert was great. There are two floors so people could easily find seats. (Do take note of the stairs, a lot of people almost fell down due to unknown reason including me =,=)</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
2) The line up of guest appearance was fantastic with Aya Hirano, the main attention grabber. However, May'N, BABYMETAL and the other artists did not lose either with fans cheering and shouting.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
3) The price of anime goodies seem to be cheaper compare to Singapore or Malaysia. I cannot confirm it.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Overall:</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
A decent event the stage crowd was fantastic and the line-up of artists were great. Still! The lack of manpower and disorganization by the organizer can be seem clearly. Especially, the organizer should have a least expected a huge crowd to visit the event while only having a decent size convention hall is kind of weird to me. When the visitors were tired no specific place to rest, most of them sat on staircase on toward the 2nd floor or a small space on B1 near the Food Street. I hope these problem could be address by the organizer on the next AFA ID if there is any.</div>

My first<a href="http://neotokyoproject.com/icds/" target="_blank"> ICDS</a> in Singapore!! It is at Orchard Road, SCAPE warehouse where some J-Artists had performed their concert before, Perfume, Scandal, Kyary Pamyu Pamyu just to name a few. There are special guests like Alodia (Cosplayer) and Jay Tablante (Photographer) from Philippines, Clive Lee (Cosplayer) and Yuanie (Cosplayer) from Singapore.<br />
<br />

<br />
Of course not to forget the artist/doujin booths, cosplay contest, dances and interesting activities that you can participate in (Played WoW Bejeweled & Card game called "Crusade", I totally sucked at it even the person teaching me was kinda frustrated XD *sorry dude*). In addition, there is a post-event party and lucky draw and cosplay chess game (interesting concept!).<br />
<br />

<br />
For a medium scale event it was great. It encourage the visitor to be active by particicipating the game if they want to join the voting for the cosplay chess game(CCG) which if voted the winning team can entitle them to join the lucky draw.<br />

The performance of the CCG was very memorable for me, decent action scene and acting skill but there was some hick-up here and there on the sound/voice, hope they can improve it next year since this is event has been in the 3rd year but kudos to the cosplayers and staffs for the hard work (You guys deserved two thumbs up from me).<br />
<br />
Overall, fun and enjoyable event! Manage to talk to Jay on Lin Minmei photograph (haha sorry a big Minmei fan =X), bought some goodies and participate on the activity and learn something new too (card game XD). Guess I was wrong.... DoCoMo trying hard to be competitive with au and SoftBank in smartphone warfare by releasing Sony Xperia Hatsune Miku smartphone expected this September. The design looks sweet and cute in my opinion but I wonder what kind of software would be included in the phone....<br />

Also my pre-ordered "Yukikaze" figure made by Alter have finally arrived after a year. The seller from rakuten kept sending to the wrong address *slap head* no wonder it didn't arrive. In the end, I requested it to be sent to my office so everything was resolved ^___________________________________^ (A very happy man for past 3 days)<br />

For those in Japan might have watch it earlier but for us outside of Japan might be slightly later (lol).<br />

<br />
The animation was just stunning!!!! Nothing to complain from Shinkai-sensei, just keep improving and improving... the greenery landscape and raining background was just great. I really love it.<br />
<br />
The story is good and solid but I believe can be better. The early and middle part was good very nicely pace and try to understand more about the two main characters life, troubles, past and reason for meeting each other. But the ending, I felt a bit rush and kind of open question unlike his other work "Byosoku Go Senchimetoru" which have a proper ending. I hope a manga would be drawn to give us more of the story.<br />
