Bayonetta ~Bloody Fate~ Review

I should have posted this 2 weeks ago but I was having so much fun in Ikebukuro, Nakano and Shinjuku. Anyway, I managed to catch Bayonetta ~Bloody Fate~ Movie @ Ikebukuro Cinema. As usual the price of the ticket is expensive Y1,800 but for me it was worth it, since I am fan of Bayonetta. The movie had been screening for some times, I was watching on the a small theater about 75 sitter. There were only a handful of people watching but amazingly about 70% were girls @_@. A bit weird since it main target was for mostly guys. Also I didn't know Bayonetta had a strong female fan base in Japan. The movie had the same story plot as the game. However, I believed it would still be a decent animation movie for any fans ^__^v as for those that didn't play the game it might get confusing at some part of the plot in the movie. I would highly recommend for those that are into fighting anime or had played Bayonetta game.

Overall:
Aninmation: 9/10 very top notch stuff, produced by Gonzo.
Story: 6/10 same as the game but can be confusing for non-Bayonetta gamer
Seiyuu: 8/10 simply great, fits each character well but I played in English so not used to the J version
Fight Scene: 7/10 early on was fun to watch but after that it just slowed down and mostly fan service (Bayonetta vs Jean would be the highlight scene)
Music: 9/10 I enjoyed the BGM and the ending theme song was great (do watch the Ending MV, it was great)

Anime Festival Asia Indonesia 2013 (AFA ID 2013) Review

It is my first time to AFA ID and I have mix feeling on about the event. Therefore, kind of difficult for me to write a proper report. Anyway, I will list between pro and con of the event.

Firstly, let me list out the cons from the beginning that i came to JCC around 11am:

1) There were so few ticket booths on that day, 6 to 7 booths that cater to thousand of people coming.

2) The queues to buy the ticket were so confusing, there were like 2 different starting queues which later bottleneck into 1 queue. (Estimated wait 2hrs+, so decided to buy it from the black market guy at Rp220,000 (USD$20) after negotiation for Ex + Stage ticket)

3) Entry queues was kind of weird that they restricted the entry for Ex ticket holder. I saw some of them waiting in line for more than an hour just to gain entry into the Exhibition.

4) For a famous event like this, the Exhibition Hall was just too compact and small. The movement of the crowd is trying to gain entry into Comiket haha...

5) Layout for B1 was very very small!!! Behind the food street area there is unused Hall which I believe can be use for resting area. While the Creator Hub and Cosplay Photozone deserved more spaces so that more people could easily access to buy doujinshi stuff or take pictures of the cosplayers.

6) Not sure about this but I wonder if there was any room for cosplayers to prepare themselves?? I saw a lot of cosplayers hogging the toilet mirror or changing to their costume.

Now the pros:

1) The Plenary Hall where the movie screening, guest appearance and concert was great. There are two floors so people could easily find seats. (Do take note of the stairs, a lot of people almost fell down due to unknown reason including me =,=)

2) The line up of guest appearance was fantastic with Aya Hirano, the main attention grabber. However, May'N, BABYMETAL and the other artists did not lose either with fans cheering and shouting.

3) The price of anime goodies seem to be cheaper compare to Singapore or Malaysia. I cannot confirm it.

Overall:

A decent event the stage crowd was fantastic and the line-up of artists were great. Still! The lack of manpower and disorganization by the organizer can be seem clearly. Especially, the organizer should have a least expected a huge crowd to visit the event while only having a decent size convention hall is kind of weird to me. When the visitors were tired no specific place to rest, most of them sat on staircase on toward the 2nd floor or a small space on B1 near the Food Street. I hope these problem could be address by the organizer on the next AFA ID if there is any.

Kotonoha no Niwa (The Garden of Words) Review

Kotonoha no Niwa by Makoto Shinkai sensei~~~ Hope everyone of you had watch it!! For those in Japan might have watch it earlier but for us outside of Japan might be slightly later (lol).

The animation was just stunning!!!! Nothing to complain from Shinkai-sensei, just keep improving and improving... the  greenery landscape and raining background was just great. I really love it.

The story is good and solid but I believe can be better. The early and middle part was good very nicely pace and try to understand more about the two main characters life, troubles, past and reason for meeting each other. But the ending, I felt a bit rush and kind of open question unlike his other work "Byosoku Go Senchimetoru" which have a proper ending. I hope a manga would be drawn to give us more of the story.

The music "Rain" by Motohiro Hata really fit in well.... no complain! Just watch and listen to the song and ENJOY IT (^_^)

Thank you Shinkai-sensei!!!! For your hard work on making this amazing animated movie!!! Looking forward on your next project!!! I will be sure to support you!!!! CHEERS!!
